Join CCL as an Interaction or UX/UI designer
The Center for Collective Learning (CCL) is a multidisciplinary research group focused on economic geography, urban science, and complex systems under the leadership of Professor César A. Hidalgo.
CCL is part of the European consortia, ObsSea4Clim, that brings together key European and international actors within ocean observing science, climate assessment, Earth System modelling, data sharing and standards, with users of oceanographic products and services in order to monitor climate requirenments, to improve regional and global climate assessments, and to ensure sustained EU leadership in the ocean–climate–biodiversity science nexus at a global level.
Synopsis
We are looking for a designer to work with us for 9 months on the creation of high-fidelity mockups for an interactive data platform focused on ocean indicators. The ideal candidate would have a degree in architecture or design and a portfolio of work including several examples of UI/UX interfaces, data visualization, and web projects. The candidate will have to interact with members of an international consortia focused on ocean indicators and climate change (this includes some travel).
About the role
The designer will work closely with Professor Hidalgo and other researchers in the Obs4SeaClim project.
The designer will lead the design of an interactive data platform that focuses on ocean indicators (the project does not include the implementation of the platform, only its design).
This is a full-time, 9-month position (could be renewed or extended depending on funding availability and performance)
About you
The ideal candidate will be fluent in English.
They have a degree in architecture, design, or a related discipline.
They have a portfolio of work including several examples of UI/UX interfaces, data visualization, and web projects
Ability to work autonomously and as part of a diverse team
Ability to implement web projects (html, css, javascript) is a plus, but it is not required.
